Bar Admissions

Eric Stein counsels a broad range of clients in a variety of commercial real estate transactions, with a focus on real estate financings, leasing, development, acquisitions and dispositions. 

Eric represents national, regional and local banks in complex acquisition, development and construction financings secured by many different types of real property, including office, retail, multi-family, industrial and warehouse properties. His experience includes single lender and syndicated financings, review of title, survey and related due diligence matters, and negotiating intercreditor, subordination and third-party consent agreements.

Eric also has extensive experience representing sellers, purchasers, owners, landlords and tenants in drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, leases and subleases, easements, construction agreements and design agreements. 

Representative Matters

Commercial Leasing

  • Represented a multi-national designer, manufacturer and distributor in connection with leasing a 500,000-square-foot distribution facility in Edgerton, Kansas.
  • Represented a national health care company with respect to a multi-site master lease covering premises in the greater New York City area.
  • Represented a Fortune 100 company in negotiation of new lease to relocate and consolidate regional offices in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.

Commercial Real Estate Financings

  • Managed due diligence review, including procurement of estoppel certificates and SNDAs from 48 tenants, and drafted collateral loan documentation for a $171,000,000 portfolio loan by a national bank to five co-borrowers secured by 46 properties in five states.
  • Represented the administrative agent and lead bank in a syndicated construction financing for a mixed-use development in Chicago, Illinois.
  • Represented a co-lender in a syndicated construction financing for a new hotel development in Washington, D.C.

Economic Development Incentives

  • Advised international manufacturer on securing state and local economic development incentives for the construction of a new manufacturing facility and global headquarters in Northville, Michigan.

Sports Arena Development

  • Assisted developer in negotiation of construction loan facilities exceeding $200,000,000 and resolution of related leasing and development issues for a new arena and events center in Detroit, Michigan.
