Miller Canfield Expands Chicago Office
Three Principal Attorneys Bolster IP, Public Finance Groups
Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that it has expanded its Chicago office with the hiring of three principal attorneys.
Lance C. Tyson will join Miller Canfield’s Public Finance Group on Feb. 3. Prior to joining Miller Canfield, Tyson was a partner at Kutak Rock in Chicago, where his practice focused on public finance, real estate, banking, tax credits, private investment funds and government affairs. He worked on transactions for the City of Chicago, Board of Education of the City of Chicago, Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago Housing Authority, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, Regional Transit Authority and the Illinois Finance Authority. Additionally, he drafted, negotiated and advanced legislation for the Soldier Field expansion bond authorization, the Illinois Affordable Housing Donation Tax Credit, and the privatization of the SkyWay, among other projects. Tyson is a graduate of Lake Forest College and the University of Iowa College of Law.
Carson P. Veach has joined the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. Prior to joining Miller Canfield, Veach was with the litigation department of Freeborn & Peters LLP. He has extensive experience representing companies and individuals in business disputes, with a special focus on intellectual property and patent infringement. Additionally, his experience includes serving as outside General Counsel to a joint venture of the country’s largest telecommunications companies; Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for a national importer and Illinois wholesaler of fine wines and specialty spirits; and a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division. Veach serves on the Board of Trustees for Coe College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, as well as the Advisory Board of the Chinese American Service League. He graduated from the University of Chicago Law School and earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
Glenn E. Weinstein has joined Miller Canfield’s Public Finance Group. Prior to joining Miller Canfield, he was a partner at Pugh, Jones & Johnson where he acted as bond, underwriter’s and disclosure counsel for bond issues of state agencies and local governments in Illinois and New York. He has represented the State of Illinois, City of Chicago, Cook County, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, the Illinois Finance Authority, the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority and the New York State Housing Finance Agency. Glenn is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, where he has held several leadership positions, including serving as chair of its Securities Law and Disclosure Committee. He is licensed to practice in Illinois, New York and Nebraska. He is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and Brown University.
