Miller Canfield Elects New Principals Elizabeth Baker and Russell Bucher

February 12, 2025

Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Baker and Russell Bucher have been promoted to principalship. The announcement was made by CEO Michael Palizzi at the firm’s annual meeting in East Lansing.

Baker is a member of the firm’s immigration practice. She has extensive experience in employment-based immigration, advising and counseling large, multinational clients regarding H-1B and LCA compliance, and conducting employer immigration training sessions. She represents and advises Fortune 500 clients, start-ups, and small business owners in the banking, utilities, IT, automotive, manufacturing, engineering, construction, and architecture industries.

Bucher is a litigator and regulatory lawyer in the firm’s International Disputes and Environmental groups. His litigation practice centers on international arbitration and related court proceedings. In his regulatory practice, Bucher advises clients within highly regulated industries, including electric and gas utility companies, insurance companies, and telecommunications providers, concerning compliance with complex state and federal regulatory regimes.

“Elizabeth and Russell have proven themselves as exceptional lawyers, trusted colleagues, and dedicated advocates for their clients. Their hard work, expertise, and commitment to our firm’s values make them more than deserving of this recognition. I’m excited to see them take this next step in their careers and look forward to their continued contributions to our firm and our clients,” Palizzi said.
