Megan Baxter-Labut Joins Miller Canfield
Megan Baxter-Labut has joined Miller Canfield's Bankruptcy Group in Detroit.
Baxter-Labut's practice focuses on bankruptcy, insolvency, and commercial lending enforcement and litigation. She also has experience representing financial institutions and has participated in structuring, negotiating and documenting secured and unsecured commercial loans.
Formerly an associate at Bodman PLC, Baxter-Labut is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School, and prior to law school, she worked as a Canadian Border Services Officer in Windsor, Ontario, where she gained extensive knowledge in the areas of commercial importation law and NAFTA, immigration law and knowledge of the Canadian Customs Act.
Baxter-Labut is fluent in French, and while in law school, volunteered as an interpreter for the Immigration and Asylum Clinic at Wayne State University Law School.
