September 24, 2015
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Michigan Chamber of Commerce, 600 S. Walnut Street, Lansing MI 48933

With changes coming to the Wage and Hour landscape, now is the time for employers to analyze the classification of each exempt employee and independent contractors. This will go a long way in avoiding huge headaches and penalties. The DOL has proposed new regulations redefining so-called white-collar exemptions, plans to issue new guidance on classifying independent contractors, and has significantly ramped up enforcement in this area in recent years.  The renewed spotlight on this area of employee classifications will create a new wave of enforcement.

Employers need to start preparing now by reviewing their employee classifications and job descriptions, and determining how their pay systems will be affected if many of their exempt employees become hourly or if independent contractors are deemed employees. This comprehensive, full-day seminar will ensure you have all the information on current and proposed regulations regarding employee classifications and overtime rules so you can effectively prepare for this change.
