Carson Veach has extensive experience representing publicly and privately held corporations and individuals in complex business disputes. These disputes have included claims of securities fraud, antitrust violations, lender liability, breaches of contract and alleged breaches of laws governing the environment. In addition, he has been lead counsel on numerous patent infringement cases and arbitrations involving intellectual property rights. He also was co-lead counsel on one ITC case and has managed litigation in several foreign countries.

Carson has conducted the antitrust analysis and managed the regulatory filings on numerous mergers and acquisitions, worked on matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and given advice on distribution contracts, state franchising and fair dealership laws, product pricing and advertising. He also has extensive experience negotiating and drafting non-disclosure, non-compete, executive employment and stock option agreements.

Carson's prior experience includes serving as outside General Counsel to a joint venture of the country's largest telecommunications companies. He also served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for a national importer and Illinois wholesaler of fine wines and specialty spirits and a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, where he conducted civil and criminal investigations and litigated civil and criminal cases involving foreign and domestic companies and individuals in a wide range of industries.

Representative Matters

  • Represented intellectual property owners in proceedings before the International Trade Commission.
  • Represented a publicly traded maker of automatic identification and data capture equipment through nationwide, multi-jurisdictional litigation against one of its largest competitors, securing favorable settlements in all matters.
  • Successfully represented clients in patent disputes with non-practicing entities asserting claims involving GPS systems, security algorithms and product delivery systems.
  • Represented a client in litigation enforcing a patent portfolio covering the design and use of handheld computer devices.
  • Conducted internal investigations of possible FCPA violations.
  • Represented clients in negotiations with the United States Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission and the ITC.
  • Successfully represented a client accused of defectively designing the SUV assembly line for a major automobile manufacturer.
