Olivia Deng is Miller Canfield's Global Business Manager. She helps lawyers in the firm's China practice group assist incoming Chinese enterprises who want to do business in the U.S., as well as U.S. firms who want to expand their businesses in China. She has more than 10 years experience in the automotive industry.
Representative Matters
Prior to joining Miller Canfield, Olivia was the manager of Wayne County, Michigan's China Program where she was responsible for establishing a development program which attracted over $200 million in Chinese investments.
Olivia developed a Business Partnership Agreement with seven Chinese cities to provide a platform to identify business sectors and act as a bridge between governments and private companies.
During her tenure at Wayne County, she opened two offices in China to help Michigan businesses match up with Chinese businesses and help Chinese businesses enter Michigan. She also organized five annual trade missions, hosted government and business delegates from China, and organized business seminars and one-on one meetings.
Before joining Wayne County's China Program, Olivia was a electrical engineer for Ascent Technologies and Detroit Center Tool Company, where she coordinated a $14 million transaction with DongFeng Automotive, the second largest automobile company in China. Responsibilities included control engineering, research, quotation, contract negotiation, engineering support, training, and assembly line delivery.
