Robert Gilbert's practice focuses on real estate finance and eventually evolved to a specialty in the tax exempt finance of hospitals and low and moderate income housing. He also has served as an adjunct professor at the Wayne State University Law School and the University of Michigan Business School.  

Prior to becoming of counsel, he served as a Managing Director, Chair of the Board of Managing Directors and as the firm's first CEO. His efforts now focus on strategic counseling.
