Patent Agent Kathleen La Belle Joins Miller Canfield

The law firm of Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Kathleen La Belle has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Group as a patent agent. The announcement was made by CEO Michael McGee.

La Belle has more than 30 years of experience in the automotive and appliance industries. Before joining Miller Canfield, she served as a patent agent for Whirlpool Corp. and as a design engineer for the Delco Products Division of General Motors Corp. She has searched and written opinions in the areas of prior art, invalidity, infringement analysis, clearance, state of the art and landscape. 

“Kathleen brings a high level of expertise, which will strengthen our robust Intellectual Property Group and further ensure that we are offering 360-degree solutions and seamless service to our clients,” McGee said.

La Belle is located in the firm’s office in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is an inventor on six U.S. patents and numerous international patents and is a registered United States Patents and Trademark Office patent agent. LaBelle is a certified Six Sigma black belt. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Cincinnati.
