Nancy Valentine Joins Miller Canfield

December 22, 2017

Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Nancy Valentine has joined the firm’s Litigation and Real Estate practice groups. The announcement was made by CEO Michael McGee.

Valentine is a nationally recognized attorney with extensive experience in litigation and transactional experience in bankruptcy, restructuring and insolvency, and commercial real estate finance, workouts and foreclosures.

Valentine’s practice has focused on representing middle-market buyers and sellers in complex transactions. She represents secured creditors, equipment lessors, landlords, asset-based lenders and general creditors, and debtors in bankruptcy. She has extensive experience in federal-court and state-court litigation proceedings and civil litigation, such as receiverships and collection matters. She also has particular experience in distressed real estate matters, and often counsels clients on planning, managing and better protecting their companies when growing relationships with customers and suppliers.

Valentine is active in many civic and professional organizations, and served the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation as Chair of the Executive Board.

“We are pleased to welcome Nancy, who brings additional bench strength to the areas where we are already strong— commercial real estate and workouts,” McGee said.

Valentine is a graduate of Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and Vanderbilt University. She is licensed in Ohio and will practice in Cleveland. She joined the firm on Dec. 4, 2017.
