Miller Canfield Demonstrates Commitment to Security with SOC 2® Type I Certification

November 2, 2023

Miller Canfield, an international law firm headquartered in Detroit, is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed the Service Organization Control (SOC 2) Type I audit. This achievement is part of Miller Canfield’s commitment to ensuring it meets the highest standards of security for clients.

SOC 2 Type I audits are designed to provide third-party assurance that organizations conform to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) SOC 2 standard and are managing data in a controlled and audited environment.

“The stringent requirements of an SOC 2 audit require us to clear a high bar in demonstrating that our data security processes ensure that we meet the principles of trust as outlined by the AICPA: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy,” said Miller Canfield Director of Information Technology and Security Derek Pedrosi. “Our security protocols require that every attorney and staff member at the firm play a part in employing best practices to protect our data. We are all committed to being vigilant in the protection of the firm’s data security and the data privacy of every one of our clients.”

Miller Canfield is building on its commitment to data security and is pursuing SOC 2 Type II certification. The firm anticipates completion of the next phase in early 2024.
