Miller Canfield Welcomes Michelle Bartlett to Employee Benefits and ERISA Practice Group
Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Michelle (Mickey) Bartlett has joined the firm as Senior Counsel in the Employee Benefits and ERISA practice group. With over two decades of experience advising private, public, nonprofit, and governmental organizations, Bartlett is a recognized authority on employee benefits law, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, PPACA, FMLA, and other regulatory frameworks.

Additionally, she brings valuable insight into employee benefits issues related to corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Before joining Miller Canfield, Bartlett held senior roles in Fortune 500 companies, including leadership positions at Ford Motor Company and General Motors, where she was responsible for U.S. and global benefits strategy, design, negotiations, and benchmarking of broad-based and executive retirement plans and health and welfare benefits. Mickey also led the Health and Welfare section at an ERISA boutique law firm.
“Mickey is an outstanding addition to our Employee Benefits and ERISA team,” said Miller Canfield CEO Michael Palizzi. “Her unparalleled experience, deep industry knowledge, and strategic mindset will significantly enhance the services we provide to our clients. We are thrilled to welcome her to the firm.”
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Bartlett is actively involved in the community. She serves as a board member of the Grosse Ile Nature and Land Conservancy and was elected in 2024 to serve as a Grosse Ile Township Board Trustee.
