Ronald Hodess Named in Crain's Notable Nonprofit Board Members
Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Ronald Hodess has been named among Crain's Detroit Business Notable Nonprofit Board members.
Hodess is a principal attorney in Miller Canfield's Real Estate Group. He has extensive experience representing clients in matters involving real estate finance, construction law, commercial leasing and all aspects of commercial development. His experience as an attorney has been invaluable in his role as a board member and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Friendship Circle of Michigan. The Friendship Circle of Michigan is a nonprofit located in West Bloomfield that was started 25 years ago and provides help and support to people with special needs and their families.
As a board member, Hodess spearheaded a project in which the Friendship Circle purchased the Dakota Bakery during the pandemic and converted it into a nonprofit that provides jobs for people with disabilities.
"The bakery provides community based vocational opportunities to people with all abilities" said Hodess. "Dakota Bakery is a special place that provides training to people in the community, and I should mention, the best tasting challah anywhere!"
Hodess is also a board member of the Autism Alliance of Michigan.
"We are very proud of Ron's service in the community and this well-earned recognition," said Miller Canfield CEO Megan Norris. "Civic involvement is at the core of our firm's culture, and Miller Canfield attorneys serve on more than 145 civic and nonprofit boards. The experience they bring to these volunteer positions makes a tremendous positive impact in the communities where we live and work."
Hodess is featured in the March 29, 2021, edition of Crain's Detroit Business.
