Haley Wadel Joins Miller Canfield

Haley Wadel has joined Miller Canfield as an associate attorney in the Corporate and Transactions Group. She will support the firm’s international and export controls and sanctions practices.

Wadel earned her bachelor’s degree in economics and international studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a graduate of the Michigan State University College of Law, where she was a managing editor of the International Law Review.

While in law school, Wadel was a legal intern at the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office and was an ethics and compliance legal intern at Oshkosh Corp. in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. While at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, she spent a summer with the United Nations learning about international relations and completed internships in import/export trade compliance and logistics at Generac Power Systems in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and international trade compliance at AM General in Livonia, Michigan.

After law school, Wadel worked as an associate at the Miami-based Diaz Trade Law, where she performed legal research, advised clients on implementing export strategies, and assisted clients in a wide range of customs and international trade issues. She has experience in export licensing, import and export classification, corporate sustainability, and extensive knowledge of international markets and trade compliance and ethics.
