Miller Canfield Expands Intellectual Property Practice, Adds Veteran Attorney Gregory DeGrazia

May 9, 2018

Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Gregory D. DeGrazia has joined the firm as a principal attorney in the Intellectual Property Group. The announcement was made by CEO Michael McGee.

DeGrazia has nearly 20 years of experience in intellectual property law. He has focused his practice on the protection of trade secrets and intellectual property nationwide and in Asia and Europe. Before he was a licensed as an attorney, he was an automotive manufacturing engineer. This practical experience prior to law school gives him unique perspective into the issues his clients face.

“We’re thrilled to add a veteran like Greg DeGrazia to our strong and growing Intellectual Property Group. Greg’s experience in the automotive, automated and connected vehicles, manufacturing, chemical and environmental industries is a great addition that aligns perfectly with our strategic vision,” McGee said. “This is an area in which we have seen significant client demand, in part as a result of the burgeoning autonomous vehicle industry. Greg’s arrival follows the recent addition of patent agent Kathleen La Belle, who joined us in our Kalamazoo office.”

DeGrazia will work in Miller Canfield’s Detroit office, where the global firm of more than 220 attorneys is headquartered. DeGrazia earned his Juris Doctor and M.B.A. from the University of Detroit Mercy and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Michigan State University.
