Leo Goddeyne Wins Michigan Community Resources Pro Bono Partner Brick Award

December 13, 2019

Miller Canfield attorney Leo Goddeyne has been named the recipient of Michigan Community Resources' Pro Bono Partner Brick Award. The award honors pro bono partners who have meaningfully contributed to MCR's mission of building strong nonprofits.

"There are few attorneys more committed to pro bono service than Leo," said Miller Canfield CEO Michael McGee. "For more than 40 years, he has inspired us to give back, and has been a leader within the firm as well as in the community. He has been a member of Miller Canfield's Pro Bono Committee since its inception. Since then, he has handled more than 100 pro bono matters and has devoted more than 3,000 hours to providing this invaluable service."

Focusing on serving low-income communities in West Michigan and statewide, Goddeyne works with the Kalamazoo Bar Association and Legal Aid of Western Michigan in organizing pro bono outreach and facilitating the efficient delivery of services and involvement by private attorneys.

Goddeyne was recognized in 2016 by the State Bar of Michigan, which awarded him the prestigious John W. Cummiskey Pro Bono Award, given annually to a member of the Michigan Bar for outstanding contributions in the pro bono arena.
