Danielle Mason Anderson Joins Panel of Women Business Leaders for Southwest Michigan First Event
KALAMAZOO, MICH. (August 24, 2018)—Miller Canfield Principal Danielle Mason Anderson will speak to the Kalamazoo, Michigan, business community as part of a First Leaders Leading Ladies panel discussion presented by Southwest Michigan First. Discussion will focus on closing the leadership gap between men and women, and will include topics such as equal pay, under-representation in managerial roles, and peer mentorship.
"These topics have been at the forefront at Miller Canfield, which is a leader in diversity and inclusion and has invested heavily in attracting, retaining and advancing women and minority attorneys," said Anderson, who is the firm’s Kalamazoo office’s resident director and a commercial real estate litigation and insolvency attorney. "I hope to offer insight on some of the specific barriers women face in the workplace and what has worked in our firm to help eliminate them."
Miller Canfield was recently recognized as the only firm in Michigan to be named among 41 major law firms nationwide to earn Mansfield Certification from Diversity Lab, the national incubator for innovative ideas and solutions to boost diversity and inclusion in law.
Along with Anderson, panelists for the sold-out Aug. 28, 2018, event will be: Kathy Beauregard, Western Michigan University’s director of athletics; Anita Mahta, director of social responsibility at Stryker; and Amy McClain, vice president for client and community services for PNC Financial Services Group.
