Miller Canfield Opens D.C. Office, Adds Leading Attorneys to Bolster International, Defense Practices
Miller Canfield announced the opening of its office in Washington, D.C., as three attorneys—principals Pawel Chudzicki and Władek Rzycki, and senior attorney Lana Yaghi—joined the firm today. The announcement was made by CEO Michael McGee.
The addition of the three attorneys, coming to Miller Canfield from global firm K&L Gates, adds strength to Miller Canfield's robust and growing international practice team. It also enables the firm to enhance the scope of services for domestic and international clients through the opening a Washington, D.C., office that will be led by Chudzicki. The addition also strengthens the firm's Polish capabilities, with three offices in Warsaw, Gdynia and Wroclaw, positioning Miller Canfield as the leading firm for clients engaged in U.S.-Polish business matters.
"Our clients increasingly operate in global and highly regulated environments," McGee said. "Pawel, Władek and Lana will fit seamlessly within our firm, as we represent clients involved in manufacturing, defense, cybersecurity, automotive, banking, and government contracting."
McGee further noted that the international full-service capabilities offered by Miller Canfield, including international dispute resolution and arbitration, cross-border transactions capabilities and a robust export controls/International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) practice, is something usually only offered by large coastal law firms.
The team will maintain its focus on representing U.S. clients in the aerospace, defense, offset and cybersecurity sectors engaged in business in Poland and Qatar, two strong allies of the United States and important markets for the U.S. manufacturing and service sectors. Additionally, the team works in close cooperation with former United States Secretary of the Army John McHugh on matters related to defense policy and procurement.
