Miller Canfield Litigation Attorney Joel Bryant Named in Michigan Lawyers Weekly Up & Coming Lawyers

February 14, 2022

Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Joel Bryant has been named in Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s Up & Coming Lawyers Class of 2022.

The annual Up & Coming Lawyers recognition honors attorneys who are distinguished from their peers by their accomplishments, drive and determination.

Bryant is an associate in Miller Canfield’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. He has worked as a valuable team member on some of the firm’s most complex and meaningful litigation matters, as well as two separate long-running prisoner rights pro bono matters. He was also part of the team that represented The Brennan Center for Justice as amici before the Michigan Supreme Court in Davis v. Benson, a 2020 voting rights case.

He serves as the Secretary of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of Michigan and is the editor-in-chief of the Litigation Journal, published semi-annually by the section. As a member of the section’s amicus committee, he recently co-authored a brief submitted at the request of the Michigan Supreme Court in a case addressing standards and procedures for fiduciary duty claims in the context of a cash-out merger.

Bryant is an active member of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan, and the Detroit Bar Association, and participates in the Ford Law Career Academy program to help high school students of color develop the skills necessary for success in a legal career.

Michigan Lawyers Weekly will recognize the Class of 2022 Up & Coming Lawyers at a luncheon on April 8, 2022.
