Veteran Litigator Amanda Martinsek Joins Miller Canfield in Cleveland

Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Amanda Martinsek has joined the firm as a principal attorney in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. She is based in the firm’s Cleveland office, where she serves as resident co-director.

Martinsek brings more than 30 years of trial and litigation experience to the firm. She has represented public and private clients in a wide range of complex disputes, including class actions, shareholder derivative claims, product liability suits, professional liability matters, real estate litigation and business torts. She joins the firm from UB Greensfelder.

“Amanda is an exceptional lawyer and litigator whose depth of experience and leadership will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our team,” said Miller Canfield CEO Michael Palizzi. “We’re proud to welcome her to the firm.”

Over the course of her career, Martinsek has tried high-stakes cases involving breach of contract, fraud, tortious interference, noncompetes, securities claims, various constitutional issues and more. She has also handled large-scale investigations, including matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and synthetic securities transactions totaling more than $1 billion.

Recognized as a “Midwest Trailblazer” by The American Lawyer and one of Crain’s Cleveland Business’ “Notable Women in Law,” Martinsek is a fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation and a member of the Eighth District Judicial Conference. She has also served on the boards of the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center and the Murtis H. Taylor Human Services System.

Martinsek earned her law degree magna cum laude from New York University School of Law, where she was named to the Order of the Coif. She holds a bachelor’s degree with honors from Oberlin College.
