Alexander Jerome Joins Miller Canfield's Export Controls Practice

September 16, 2019

Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Alexander S. Jerome has joined Miller Canfield's Export Controls Practice.

Jerome joins the firm from Wayne State University, where he was the senior director of administration and finance for the Perinatology Research Branch (PRB) of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Development/National Institute of Health.

"We are seeing a growing demand in the area of export controls and ITAR, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, partly because our economy is increasingly global, but also because we are one of the very few Midwestern firms to offer a full range of international legal services that include everything from international disputes to transactions, immigration and export controls," said Miller Canfield CEO Michael McGee. "We provide those services, which are often thought to only be available from large East Coast firms. Alex's extensive experience with regulatory matters and government contracts will be a valuable addition to our practice."

Jerome is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School and earned his bachelor's degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is active in his community and serves on the City of Birmingham Design Review Board; he was previously on the Housing Board of Appeals.
