Al Wallace Receives Theodore W. Swift Civility Award
The Ingham County Bar Association has posthumously awarded the 2020 Theodore W. Swift Civility Award to G. Alan Wallace, who died on Sept. 26, 2020.
The award is given to members of the association who have distinguished themselves by manifesting civility in their relations with colleagues, clients, judges and the public, while adhering to and advancing the highest principles and traditions of the legal profession.
Wallace was known not only for his excellent legal skills, but also for "being a friend and confidante to everyone, including judges and mayors, congressmen and business leaders," said Miller Canfield CEO Michael McGee. "Al had a knack for making anyone talking to him feel like they were the most important person in the world he could be talking to. More importantly, he was a great colleague, a great father and husband, and a great friend."
Wallace was nominated for the recognition by his colleagues in Miller Canfield's office in Lansing, Michigan, where he had worked since 2010.
