Amber Liu Joins Miller Canfield in Chicago, Expands China Practice

The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that Amber Liu has joined the firm as an associate in the Chicago office. A native of China, Liu has several years of experience as a corporate lawyer in China and in the U.S. She is licensed in China, as well as in Illinois and New York. She will join the firm’s China Team, assisting clients in the areas of international contracting, overseas investment, mergers & acquisitions, corporate financing transactions and general corporate matters with regard to Chinese operations and international trade.

Miller Canfield represents many Chinese companies doing business in the U.S. and throughout the world and represents companies investing or expanding in China.

“Amber is a great addition to our China Team. She brings significant experience in M&A, corporate and inbound and outbound foreign investment and exhibits great comfort with the U.S. and Chinese business cultures,” said Richard A. Walawender, director of the firm’s Corporate Group.

She is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, New York Bar Association and American Bar Association.

She received her LL.B. from Peking University Law School and her LL.M., with honors, from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
