Miller Canfield Names Two Litigation and Trial Deputy Group Leaders

The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that Matthew F. Leitman will serve as Litigation and Trial Group Deputy Group Leader, Troy, and Soni H. Mithani will serve as the Litigation and Trial Group Deputy Group Leader, Ann Arbor.  

Leitman is a principal in the Troy, Mich. office. His principal practice areas are complex commercial litigation, criminal defense, and appellate litigation. His experience includes trial practice before state and federal trial courts as well as numerous appeals before state and federal appellate courts. He has been involved in several high-profile trials and has argued several significant appeals that have led to important, precedent-setting rulings. He has authored several influential law review articles on matters of federal law and Michigan law. 

Leitman earned a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude, and bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan, with highest distinction, Phi Beta Kappa.  

Mithani is a principal in the Ann Arbor, Mich. office. She specializes in litigation and dispute resolution. She has the experience and expertise to handle a variety of business-related matters before trial and appellate courts. She oversees an active and diverse caseload, including commercial contract matters, business tort disputes, construction cases and securities litigation. Mithani is especially versed in managing and litigating fraud and abuse claims (including claims under state and federal False Claims Acts) and health-care disputes. 

Mithani earned a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School, graduating cum laude, and a bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan, with high distinction, Phi Beta Kappa.
