September 26, 2011

The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that principal Michael P. McGee (Detroit and Chicago) has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the Citizens Research Council of Michigan for the 2011-2012 term.

As a board member, McGee will be replacing his Miller Canfield colleague, Amanda Van Dusen, who served on the board for the past 18 years, serving as board chair for three of those years, and will now retain a position as a trustee.

The Citizens Research Council of Michigan is a privately funded, not-for-profit public affairs research organization, founded in 1916. For over 90 years, the objective of CRC and its board members has been to provide factual, unbiased, independent information on significant issues concerning state and local government organization and finance.

With more than 25 years of public policy and broad legal experience, McGee has acted as bond counsel to governmental issuers of all types in financing public infrastructure. He is named a Best Lawyer in America for his work in Public Finance Law and is recognized as an expert in public entity law, public/private partnerships, and intergovernmental cooperation.  McGee received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and M.P.P. and A.B. from the University of Michigan with an emphasis on economic analysis.
