Miller Canfield Before the Bell Breakfast Forum
Area investment advisors and registered representatives are invited to join the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. at the upcoming Before the Bell breakfast forum, “ERISA Fiduciary Obligations and Pension Rule Update.” The forum will be held on Thursday, May 12, from 7:15-8:30 a.m. at the Townsend Hotel (One Hundred Townsend Street, Birmingham).
Miller Canfield attorneys Michael A. Alaimo and Orin D. Brustad will discuss who is a fiduciary under ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) and what obligations are imposed on fiduciaries by the statute, as well as the Economic Growth and Tax Recovery Relief Act of 2001 and its implications for those who deal with ERISA-covered benefit plans.
