September 9, 2003

The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. recently hosted a reception for the new dean of the University of Michigan Law School, Evan H. Caminker, whose appointment to dean became effective August 1. Current and former Miller Canfield attorneys welcomed Dean Caminker on August 20 to the firm’s downtown Detroit office and collectively discussed the endeavors of the Law School, as well as the firm’s long history with the school.

Miller Canfield has more University of Michigan Law School alumni than any single legal organization in the country. Currently, Michigan’s largest law firm has more than 75 U-M Law School graduates practicing with the firm.

"Miller Canfield has the advantage of being able to attract graduates from one of the most prestigious and quality law schools in the country," said Thomas W. Linn, CEO of Miller Canfield. "The law school opened in 1859 and we’ve been hiring graduates from the law school since the 19th century. We appreciate Dean Caminker taking the time to meet our firm and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship with the University of Michigan."
