Climate change opinion leaders, global corporate executives and government officials from the Great Lakes and Washington D.C. will discuss diverse views on cutting edge legal and public policy that is shaping this body of law—and impacting every business and organization.

The high-profile symposium is also sponsored by Wayne State University Law School, NextEnergy, Automation Alley, the University of Michigan Business Engagement Center, University Research Corridor, Ann Arbor SPARK and Michigan State University-Business Connect. Panelists and presenters include representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, DTE Energy, American Concrete Institute (ACI), Comerica Bank, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and Michigan Manufacturers Association.   Lawyers from Miller Canfield’s climate law practice team include Mark J. Bennett, senior counsel, climate change practice team leader, and symposium chairman; principals Anna M. Maiuri, Matthew P. Allen, Michael P. Coakley and Ronald E. Hodess; and associate Paul M. Collins.

The seminar will include valuable information and insight on:
• Identifying economic partnerships with environmental public interest groups
• Interpreting corporate climate change risks and trends outlined by the SEC
• Reviewing climate change related legislation
• Addressing challenges of climate change in the courts
• Levering clean energy incentives for long-term economic growth

Attendance is free but limited to business leaders, economic development officials and entrepreneurs engaged in climate change and sustainable ventures or investments.
