Miller Canfield Lawyer Len Givens Named One of the Top 10 Labor & Employment Lawyers in USA

The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that Leonard D. Givens, a principal in the Detroit office, has been recognized by Human Resources Executive magazine in its 2009 list of “The Nation’s Most Powerful Employment Attorneys – Top 10 for Labor Law.”

Human Resources Executive teamed up with Lawdragon, an L.A.-based news and networking site for lawyers and clients to find the top 100 leading corporate employment lawyers in America for 2009. This year’s search yielded more than 1,000 nominees.

Givens brings extensive experience in all facets of labor and employment law to both the courtroom, the hearing room and the bargaining table. During a long and distinguished legal career, he has represented companies before the National Labor Relations Board, negotiated over 200 collective bargaining agreements and handled countless matters related to federal and state anti-discrimination laws. He is also an expert on issues pertaining to the Fair Labor Standards Act and ERISA, retiree issues, and has acted as an arbitrator in both employment and labor contract cases. He also represents K-12 school districts, community colleges and universities in all employer/employee matters as well as issues pertaining to student governance.

Givens received his J.D. from Howard University School of Law and his B.S. from Mansfield State College.
