Attorney Carl von Ende Appointed General Counsel of Miller Canfield
The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that Carl H. von Ende, a principal and litigator in the Detroit office of Miller Canfield, has been appointed general counsel of the firm. As general counsel, he will advise and represent the firm’s managing directors and CEO on corporate management issues including professional liability and responsibility. He replaces Frederick A. Acomb, who steps down after serving two years as the firm’s legal counsel.
According to a 2008 survey by Altman Weil, over 80% of responding AmLaw 200 firms have designated an in-house general counsel as part of their corporate business model.
von Ende will continue his practice as a trial lawyer at Miller Canfield. He specializes in trial, appeal, arbitration and mediation of antitrust, securities, intellectual property, corporate governance and debtor-creditor litigation.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and an active member of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, and American Arbitration Association. He is recognized for his work in Commercial Litigation in Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, and Michigan Super Lawyers, where he was named in the “Top 100 Michigan Super Lawyers.”
He received his A.B. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
