February 12, 2009

The law firm of Miller Canfield is pleased to announce that Gurinder J. Singh, an associate in the Ann Arbor office specializing in corporate and commercial transactions, has been appointed vice president and director of events planning of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce of Michigan.

At Miller Canfield, Singh has helped several U.S. and international clients with complex mergers and acquisitions, both on the sell and the buy side. She also has experience with ITAR and export controls matters.

“As a business attorney, I strive to serve my clients’ business as if it were my own.  I have operated my own businesses for over nine years, giving me a unique insight into issues my clients face. I can give my clients not only legal advice, but also practical advice to meet their business needs,” said Singh.

She was the founder and president of Hype Events, an event management firm based out of Canton, Michigan.  Her vision of bringing Indian cultural events to the Detroit area has made Hype the most successful South Asian event management firm in the Midwest.  Working with individual and corporate sponsors, she has organized annual international events such Bhangra Fusion, Bollywood Project and the Miss India-Michigan pageant.  She received her J.D. from Wayne State University School of Law.
