Miller Canfield Hosts Annual Employment Law Seminar for Employers - October 23, 2008

Virtual Workplace Expert Will Discuss How Business Can Be Enhanced by Virtual Environments

The law firm of Miller Canfield will host its “Annual Employment Law Seminar” on Thursday, October 23, from 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at the MSU Management Education Center in Troy, Michigan (811 W. Square Lake Road).  The firm has assembled labor and employment law experts from the U.S. and Canada to provide insight and offer practical solutions to some of the most important issues employers are facing in today’s challenging and ever-changing global and virtual environment.

Virtual worlds and web3D expert Dave Elchoness, founder and CEO of VRWorkplace and GoWeb3D of Boulder, Colorado and an experienced HR attorney, is one of the featured speakers at this year’s seminar. Elchoness has witnessed the challenges faced by organizations that struggle to be productive despite distance, cultural differences, and tight travel budgets.  He will discuss how virtual worlds technology is about to radically change how we do business across distance.

The event will also feature interactive presentations to provide important legal updates on a wide range of topics for human resource professionals, corporate counsel, and business executives who need to stay current on labor and employment laws, regulations and practices.

The all-day seminar begins with a continental breakfast and includes lunch. Cost is $85 per person; $65 for each additional attendee from the same company.
