Miller Canfield Hosts Seeds of Peace Reception

October 1, 2001

Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. hosted a reception on September 6, 2001, in honor of Seeds of Peace, an international organization dedicated to empowering the children of war to break the cycle of violence. Seeds of Peace is a nonprofit, nonpolitical organization that helps teenagers from regions of conflict learn the skills of making peace. Set at their own camp in the woods of Maine, a safe and supportive environment is created where Israeli and Arab youngsters can air their views and learn listening, communication, and other conflict resolution techniques that allow them to develop empathy for one another. Seeds of Peace equips the next generation with the leadership capabilities required to end the cycles of violence.

The reception was a celebration of the September 10 Michigan Chapter of Seeds of Peace Detroit Gala Dinner honoring Jacques Nasser, President and CEO of Ford Motor Company, and featuring The Honorable Spencer Abraham, a former Miller Canfield attorney, as the keynote speaker.

The 260-attorney law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C., established in Detroit, Michigan in 1852, has offices in Ann Arbor, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Howell, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Monroe, Troy, Washington, D.C., New York City, and in Gdynia, Katowice, and Warsaw, Poland; with an affiliated office in Pensacola, Florida.
