Attorney Elected Secretary of State Bar of Michigan Section
Lawrence M. Dudek, a principal in the Detroit office of the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C., has been elected Secretary of the State Bar of Michigan's Real Property Law Section for 2000-2001.
Dudek is a commercial litigator who represents banking institutions and secured creditors in connection with all aspects of commercial foreclosures and workouts involving real estate and personal property, such as out-of-court workouts, federal bankruptcy, and state court litigation proceedings.
He received his law degree, magna cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School, and his B.A. from The University of Michigan. Prior to joining the firm in 1990, he was a senior partner in the Southfield, Michigan law firm of Schlussel, Lifton, Simon, Rands, Galvin & Jackier, P.C.
He is a member of the American, Michigan, Federal, Detroit Metropolitan, and Oakland County Bar Associations. Previously he chaired the State Bar of Michigan's Continuing Legal Education Committee. He also has published several decisions and articles relating to his area of practice and is a frequent speaker on foreclosure, bankruptcy, real estate, and personal property topics.
Mr. Dudek resides in Livonia, Michigan.
