Miller Canfield Attorney Elected to State Bar's Board of Commissioners

Allyn D. Kantor, principal in the Ann Arbor law office of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone P.L.C., has been elected to the State Bar of Michigan’s Board of Commissioners. He will serve a three-year term, representing District G, which includes Jackson, Lenawee, Monroe and Washtenaw Counties.

The State Bar's Board of Commissioners acts as the primary managing body for the Bar and sets policy between meetings of the Representative Assembly.

Kantor is a member of Miller Canfield’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group. He litigates complex business disputes, including the defense of legal and medical malpractice claims, commercial real estate issues, shareholder disputes, employment litigation, product liability claims, and related matters.

In addition to being a litigator, he is an advocate of alternate dispute resolution processes and frequently speaks and writes on this subject.

He is a member of the Council of the Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Michigan and is the 2002 recipient of the George N. Bashara, Jr. Award for distinguished service to the Section. He serves on the faculty of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Ann Arbor Symphony and is a member of the Advisory Board of Home Care and Hospice of Michigan. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 1997.

Kantor earned his B.S. from Washington & Lee University and his law degree from the University of Michigan.

He resides in Ann Arbor.
