December 5, 2007

Michigan’s largest law firm, Miller Canfield, hosted a special lunch meeting for a business delegation from the Middle Eastern nation of Qatar on Tuesday, December 4, in Detroit. The delegation—including members of the nation’s royal family—is visiting Wayne County for a trade mission to discuss investment opportunities here.

Members of the Qatari delegation attended the Miller Canfield meeting with their host, Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano and other area business leaders. It has been reported that the delegation is exploring business deals in Wayne County, including the aerotropolis plan that would link Detroit, Willow Run and other regional airports, and rail and port facilities.

The law firm of Miller Canfield was established in Detroit in 1852 and employs 800 in offices in Michigan, Illinois, Massachusetts, Florida, New York, Canada and Poland. The firm represents clients in transactions, acquisitions and litigation throughout the world.
