Miller Canfield Attorney Honored

The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. proudly announces that Sally A. Hamby, principal in the firm’s Troy office, received the Friend of NAWBO award from the National Association of Women Business Owners - Greater Detroit Chapter (NAWBO) for her efforts in revising the chapter’s bylaws and articles. The Friend of NAWBO award is one of seven awards given each year by NAWBO and recognizes non-member individuals whose contributions benefit the chapter.

Hamby spearheaded the effort by Miller Canfield to update the chapter’s bylaws and articles. On June 5, she was honored at the chapter’s annual meeting.

Hamby received her law degree, cum laude, from Wayne State University where she was a member of the Order of the Coif. Her B.A. in education was received from Michigan State University. She practices corporate, securities, and banking law, including mergers and acquisitions/sales of corporate equity and debt securities and assets, bank and bank holding company transactional and regulatory matters, securities registration and reporting. She also is a member of the firm's Automotive Industry Group.

She is chairperson of the Troy Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Forum, and she is a member of the American, Michigan, and Oakland County Bar Associations, Detroit Zoological Society, Troy Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Forum, and the Michigan State University Alumni Association.
