Miller Canfield's Annual Labor and Employment Law Seminar

Miller Canfield announces the details of its Annual Labor and Employment Law Seminar on Wednesday, November 1, from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the MSU Management Education Center in Troy (811 W. Square Lake Road). Presentations and interactive workshops will provide important legal and practical updates on a wide range of topics for human resource professionals, corporate counsel, and business executives who need to stay current on labor and employment laws, regulations and practices.

Featured guest speaker Jody M. McLeod, vice president of law at Kelly Services, Inc., will discuss temporary, part-time and leased employees. Kelly Services has maintained a leadership position for the past 60 years in the temporary staffing industry, offering solutions to employers worldwide.

The schedule includes workshops on timely topics including wage and hour issues such as overtime and payroll deductions; religious discrimination and accommodation in the workplace; MIOSHA law and practice; pension plans; HIPAA; as well as privacy, surveillance, and the electronic workplace.

The all-day seminar begins with a continental breakfast and includes lunch. Cost is $85 per person and $50 for each additional attendee from the same company. Attendees will receive seminar materials in a binder and on a complimentary flash drive.
