Attorney Elected to Board of Trustees
Richard A. Walawender, a principal in the Detroit office of the law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. , has been elected to the board of trustees of Madonna University, a Catholic, Franciscan university committed to teaching, scholarship, and service.
Mr. Walawender is active in many professional, civic, and cultural organizations including the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, International Bar Association, Macomb County Bar Association, Catholic Lawyers' Society, Polish Advocates' Bar Association, Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, Polish Century Club of Detroit, Inc., Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences, Cornerstone Schools Association, Friends of the Cardinal of Detroit, Knights of Columbus, and Legatus, Detroit Chapter.
A member and leader of the International Business Service Group and the Automotive Industry Group, he also serves as a managing director of Miller Canfield.
Mr. Walawender attended the University of Michigan where he received his law and undergraduate degrees. He also attended Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, where he undertook course work in Polish language, history, and politics.
He resides in Shelby Township.
