Miller Canfield Elects New Principals

The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. is pleased to announce that James A. Simpson was elected principal of the firm, effective January 1, 2006. All reside in the firm’s Troy, Michigan office.

James A. Simpson, from senior counsel to principal. He is co-leader of the firm’s Capital Markets Lending Group and is a member of the Real Estate, Corporate and Securities, and Financial Institutions and Transactions groups. He is highly experienced in virtually all lending products and geographic areas of the country. He was co-founder, director, and chief strategic officer of e-Cognita Technologies, Inc. of Birmingham, Michigan.

Simpson received his J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University where he was a recipient of the Alexander Freeman Scholarship Award. His B.A. in pre-law is from Michigan State University.

He resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
