Miller Canfield Attorney Appointed to American Bar Association's House of Delegates
The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. announces that Marjory G. Basile, a principal in the Detroit office, has been appointed by the State Bar of Michigan Board of Commissioners to serve a two-year term on the Michigan delegation of the American Bar Association (ABA) House of Delegates.
Basile is head of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Information Technology Group and a member of the Automotive Industry Group. Her extensive intellectual property practice includes trademark and copyright procurement, U.S. PTO inter-party proceedings, licensing, infringement litigation and dispute resolution, and business counseling regarding trade secrets, intellectual property audits, intellectual property ownership, protection issues, and e-commerce issues.
Her professional memberships include the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Oakland County Bar Association, the American Arbitration Association, Michigan Intellectual Property Lawyers' Association, Intellectual Property Owners' Association, Software Patent Institute (Charter Member), American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Mortgage Bankers' Association, Legal Issues Committee.
Basile was a Commissioner-at-Large of the State Bar of Michigan from 2000-03. She also currently serves as co-chair of the Section of Litigation, Intellectual Property Litigation Committee.
She received her law degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Detroit-Mercy, and a B.A. in journalism from Marygrove College.
She resides in Birmingham, Michigan.
