Miller Canfield Attorney Appointed Chair of State Bar Committee

The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. announces that Ronald E. Hodess, a principal in the Troy office and leader of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, has been appointed to a one-year term as chair of the special committee on Construction Law of the Real Property Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

Hodess is experienced in several areas of law including commercial real estate, acquisitions and dispositions, real estate finance, construction law, leasing, workouts and foreclosures, title issues, zoning and land use, and all aspects of commercial development. In addition, he handles procurement, negotiation, and consulting with respect to state and local economic development incentives and tax abatements relating to real and personal property.

He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate, & Trust Law Section, Construction Law Forum, Oakland County Bar Association’s Real Estate Law Section, board of directors of JARC (Jewish Association for Residential Care), member of the executive committee of The Friendship Circle, annual fundraiser for the Autism Society of America-Oakland County Chapter, and past member of the board of directors of the Jewish Community Council.

He received his law degree from Georgetown University and a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan.

He resides in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
