New Deputy Resident Directors Lead Troy Office
The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. announces that Stephen G. Palms and Brian S. Westenberg, principals, have been appointed deputy resident directors of the firm’s Troy office. They join Kenneth E. Konop in managing the office’s overall operations.
Palms, a resident of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, is leader of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group and practices commercial real estate law representing owners, developers, lenders and tenants in all aspects of office, retail, light industrial, and residential projects. He is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, and Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and chairs the board of directors of the Oakland Community College Foundation and is a member of the executive board of the Boy Scouts of America, Detroit Area Council.
He received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, magna cum laude, and received an A.B., with honors in history, from the University of Michigan. He joined the firm in 1976, becoming a principal in 1983. He was a managing director of the firm from 2000-03 and from 1991-93.
Westenberg, a resident of Washington, Michigan, is a member of Miller Canfield’s Product Safety Group and Automotive Industry Group, focusing on automotive product liability and automotive regulatory requirements of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Federal Bar Association, Macomb County Bar Association, Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Miller Canfield Bombers Benevolent Athletic Society (Chair), and the Miller Canfield Bombers v. Detroit Red Wings Alumni Charity Events (Steering Committee Chair).
He received his law degree, magna cum laude, from the Detroit College of Law. His B.A., with distinction, is from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. He also holds a degree in criminal justice from Macomb Community College.
