Miller Canfield and Acordia of Michigan Present a Briefing for Employers

June 17, 2005

The law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. and Acordia of Michigan invite employers to attend a briefing on Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation (NQDC) Plans, Tuesday, June 28, 2005, from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at the University Club in Grand Rapids (111 Lyon NW, Suite 1025). A December 31, 2005 deadline requires employers with a NQDC plan to amend these plans or be subject to tax and penalties under the new deferred compensation rules.

If your organization offers employment contracts which allow executives or key employees to defer any portion of their income; has a stock option plan; or offers severance benefits without payout over time, you may have a NQDC plan.

There is no cost to attend; however, the briefing is limited to employers. Space is limited; advance registration is required. Please RSVP to Katrina Williams at Katrina_Williams@Acordia.com, or call 616/776-0270. A continental breakfast opens at 7:30 a.m.

The 340-attorney law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. was established in Detroit in 1852 and has offices in Ann Arbor, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Howell, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Monroe, and Troy, Michigan.
