Joseph Gustavus to Discuss U.S. Export Control Reforms at an International Conference in London in October

August 4, 2014

TROY, Mich. (22 July 2014) – Miller Canfield principal Joseph Gustavus will discuss U.S. export control regulations at The WorldECR Export Controls & Sanctions Forum 2014 on October 15 and 16, 2014 in London, U.K.

Gustavus’s presentation, “Sharing Sensitive Technologies Between International Affiliates,” will cover the complicated web of regulations that can affect an U.S.-foreign affiliated organization that exchanges sensitive technologies among its entities in different countries. He will use practical examples to examine how such organizations are affected by export control regulations and how they can avoid violations.

The event will take place at Dexter House, the Royal Mint, next to the Tower of London.

Gustavus is the leader of Miller Canfield’s Export Control Section, representing multinational clients primarily in the automotive, defense, aerospace, software and information technology sectors.  He counsels and assists clients with their domestic and international acquisitions and commercial transactions, ITAR and export control compliance issues, corporate governance and with building, demonstrating, and protecting the value of their intellectual property rights.
