Miller Canfield Advises Charles Reinhart Company on Sale to Real Estate One

September 17, 2013

The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that it served as legal adviser to Charles Reinhart Company, a real estate firm founded 43 years ago in Ann Arbor, Mich., on its sale to Real Estate One, of Southfield, Mich., effective September 10, 2013.

“As a longstanding part of the Ann Arbor business community, we were very pleased to be a part of this deal combining two of Washtenaw County’s top real estate brokerages,” said Jeffrey L. LaBine, a corporate and M&A principal at Miller Canfield. “Leveraging local and national specialists allowed us to bring the right people to the team to assist Reinhart in this key milestone in the growth of an Ann Arbor institution.”

The Miller Canfield team, led LaBine (Ann Arbor and New York City offices) and real estate principal Joseph M. Fazio (Ann Arbor, Mich. office), included employee benefits principal Kenneth J. Sachs (Troy, Mich. office), and corporate lawyer Amita Gopinath (New York City office).

“The Miller Canfield team was critical in helping us successfully and quickly navigate through what is a very complex process,” said Reinhart President Dave Lutton. “We’re extremely pleased with the outcome and excited to see both organizations get stronger in the future.”

Reinhart is now a division of Real Estate One, but Reinhart will maintain its own brand, sales offices, sales associates and management staff. The financial terms of the deal are confidential.
