Miller Canfield Lawyer Dawn Schluter Appointed to The American Cancer Society’s Nationwide Gift Planning Advisor Council
The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that Dawn M. Schluter, a principal in the Troy, Mich. office and leader of the Personal Services Group, has been appointed to The American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Nationwide Gift Planning Advisor Council for the Great Lakes Region. The Council consists of 16 volunteer leaders throughout the U.S.
The ACS Nationwide Gift Planning Advisor Council supports the mission of the ACS by providing estate and financial planning expertise relating to charitable giving, including offering expertise on specific estate planning strategies and providing strategic insight and feedback in connection with planned and major giving.
“I’m truly honored to have been nominated by Jo Stausz Rosen, director of estate and gift planning for the Nationwide Planned Giving Business Unit of the Great Lakes Division. I, like so many, am personally aware of cancer’s impact. I know the importance of supporting the great work of The American Cancer Society and the impact of leaving a legacy – I have included the American Cancer Society in my own estate planning documents,” said Schluter. “I am proud to be an advocate of The American Cancer Society’s mission and join the other dedicated professionals on the Gift Planning Advisor Council.”
Schluter has expansive experience in estate planning, trusts, taxes and family law when drafting estate and wealth transfer plans.
Schluter has been a lawyer with Miller Canfield since 1989. She received her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School and her B.A. from Kalamazoo College.
