Miller Canfield Lawyer John Engelmann Elected as Chairperson-Elect of the American Chemical Society’s Kalamazoo Chapter
The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that intellectual property lawyer John H. Engelmann, senior counsel in the Kalamazoo, Mich. office, has been elected as chairperson-elect of the Kalamazoo Section of the American Chemical Society (KACS).
The American Chemical Society is a 164,000 member nonprofit organization chartered by Congress to advance the importance of chemistry worldwide. With more than 400 members, the Kalamazoo chapter represents chemists, chemical engineer, teachers and college professors based in Kalamazoo, Allegan and Van Buren Counties.
Engelmann received his J.D. from the University of Illinois Law School and his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He also earned a PhD in chemistry from the University of Illinois.
He joined Miller Canfield in 2009 after a 30-year career as an in-house patent attorney for various pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, Inc. Pharmacia and Eli Lilly & Company.
