Miller Canfield Lawyer Brian Schwartz Named an "Up & Coming Lawyer" by Michigan Lawyers Weekly

Brian Schwartz, an associate in the Detroit, Mich. office of Miller Canfield, was named a 2012 “Up & Coming Lawyer” by Michigan Lawyers Weekly for making a substantial impact in the legal industry. He was among 20 honorees that were chosen based on a noteworthy case, unique practice area, or interesting community or bar association efforts.

A member of Miller Canfield’s Employment and Labor Group, Schwartz represents management in various aspects of labor and employment counseling and litigation. His practice focuses on defending class-action lawsuits involving retiree health benefit disputes and employment discrimination. He also has been involved in defending race, gender and disability discrimination claims.

He received his J.D. from University of Michigan Law School and his B.S. from Cornell University.

Michigan Lawyers Weekly is a state-wide newspaper that reports on Michigan and federal court decisions, legal ethics and judicial conduct issues and jury verdicts.
