Real Estate Lawyer Blake Schulman Joins Miller Canfield in Chicago
The law firm of Miller Canfield announces that Blake E. Schulman has joined the firm as a senior attorney in the Real Estate Group in Chicago. He concentrates his practice in commercial real estate matters including acquisitions and dispositions, financing, joint ventures, leasing, construction and commercial development.
Schulman has represented many large institutional investors. He has completed over $500 million of real estate acquisitions and dispositions throughout the U.S.,including dozens of dispositions of REO property for multiple financial institutions. He regularly handles complex joint venture and financing transactions, and represents clients in various portfolio transactions and transactions involving loan workouts and sale-leasebacks.
He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Steven M. Gold of the Eastern District of New York.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, Real Property Section; Chicago Bar Association, Real Property Law Committee; International Council of Shopping Centers; Urban Land Institute; and Chicago Real Estate Private Equity Network. He is a committee member of the Chicago Jewish United Fund Real Estate Division.
He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.B.A., with high distinction from the University of Michigan Business School.
He resides in Deerfield, Illinois.
